Preparing for a recital provides a heightened sense of direction to piano study and a medium for developing discipline and poise. Students increase their practice schedules in order to internalize and memorize their recital music. Listening to fellow students perform promotes inspiration and commitment. Recitals are an integral part of the preparation process for students desiring to enter competitions or pursue post high school music study, The LVMTA offers up to three student recitals per year.

 

All repertoire performed must be appropriate for all ages and audiences.  Lyrics may not include any direct or indirect references to drugs, alcohol, violence, sex, include any foul language, or any other subject / topic the committee deems inappropriate.  The Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any piece.  It is the submitting teacher's responsibility to ensure all music is appropriate
