The Achievement Awards Auditions are for the purpose of providing students of all performance levels with a confidence-building preparation and performance opportunity, an evaluation by a qualified adjudicator, and the privilege of performing in an Honors Recital upon receiving a Superior Plus rating from the adjudicator. 

The Dorothy Sutton Performance Festival provides an opportunity for talented music students to participate

in a Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association (PMTA) State Festival Showcase Recital. To assure high

standards for the Showcase Recitals, students must audition and qualify in a local preliminary audition.

This immersive session offers a unique opportunity to refine your skills, deepen your understanding of performance techniques, and enhance your interpretative abilities.

Our Field Trip Program is made possible through the funds provided by the annual Playathon. Each year, the LVMTA provides the best possible opera or instrumental ensemble experience for our students.

The Musikfest recital is an excellent opportunity for our organization to present a quality program which can represent the best we have to offer as music educators. Students are required to play two pieces from memory at the audition. 

The annual Lehigh Valley Music Teachers Association Playathon, sponsored by Jacobs Music, is our primary fund raising vehicle. Proceeds provide generous scholarships to selected college music majors and music camp scholarships for high school applicants.
